WINGS
(Working to Insure and Nurture Girls' Success) is a subcomponent of the CAT
program (see CAT). The goal of WINGS is to reduce the number of females
who progress further into the juvenile justice system by providing intervention
services to girls who have committed a first offense. Through a close
collaboration with probation officers assigned specifically to WINGS, SAY San
Diego works with the girls and their families to provide case management,
family support, parent education, and gender specific services, including
groups focused around the issues that girls face and drug and alcohol
intervention and education.
