Mid-City CAN is a community collaborative
of schools, businesses, religious and civic organizations, youth, parents and
community residents working together to strengthen the Mid City community. This project focuses on guiding and
coordinating the development of the community and its resources. Currently, Mid-City CAN is addressing
asthma prevention, elimination of substandard housing, food access (including
the development of urban gardens and a farmers market for City Heights), teen
sexual health, increased language capacity of domestic violence service
providers, substance abuse prevention and leadership development.
SAY
San Diego is a member of Mid-City CAN and also serves as the fiscal and
administrative agent for the collaboration.
